US singer Chris Brown has been arrested in the UK following an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023. The arrest took place at a hotel in Manchester in the early hours of Thursday, May 15. Brown was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair on February 19, 2023. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 36-year-old man, identified as Brown, remains in custody. A spokesperson for the Met stated, “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Chris Brown has been taken into custody where he remains.”
The Sun, which first reported the story, indicated that police were alerted to Brown’s presence in the UK. This happened after the newspaper learned he had flown in via private jet. Officers traveled to Manchester to confirm his arrest.
Allegations Against Brown
Abe Diaw, the music producer involved in the incident, claimed that Brown struck him over the head with a bottle. He reportedly proceeded to punch and kick him while he was on the ground. Diaw reported that he suffered significant injuries, including a collapsed knee. Brown’s actions allegedly required Diaw to use crutches after being discharged from the hospital.
