Bond Reduced for Yella Beezy in Murder-for-Hire Case

In a surprise move, Judge Gracie Lewis reduced Yella Beezy’s bond from $2 million to $750,000 on Thursday. The reduction was made during a bond reduction hearing for charges related to an alleged murder-for-hire scheme that led to rapper Mo3’s death.

Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, faces charges of capital murder while remuneration. A Dallas County grand jury indicted him last week. Prosecutors allege he hired a hitman to kill Mo3 in 2020.

During the hearing, prosecutors presented new video evidence showing the alleged hitman shooting at and chasing down Mo3 on I-35. The video demonstrated the crime’s severity and argued against reducing Conway’s bond.

Conway’s grandmother, Alma Jean Alexander, testified that her grandson couldn’t afford the $2 million bond. She claimed his financial situation had changed since his arrest.

Judge Lewis reduced Conway’s bond to $750,000 with conditions, including not contacting victims or witnesses. She also reprimanded Conway for not taking the case seriously.
